In my former life, I held a variety of different jobs. I worked in the restaurant business, customer service and transport, among others. At the age of 40, I decided to make a major change and go back to school to obtain a DEC in special education. Initially, I had planned to work with people with Autism Spectrum Disorder. But at the end of my degree, I applied for a position at Mouvement Action Découverte to gain some work experience in the field, and to my surprise, I fell in love with the clientele as well as the organization’s mission. I have been working at le Mouvement for a little over 7 years now, and as a team supervisor and activity coordinator since 2017. I am known for my patience, my deep appreciation for the participants, my sense of humour, my sarcasm, and my dedication to the organization.
